Total Rehab of a Rowhome in Columbia Heights
When a DC resident inherited this Columbia Heights home from his grandmother, it was literally falling down. The front of the building had separated from the back and was leaning forward 6". Using helical piers, New City reunited the two parts of the building and permanently stabilized it. Then, we completely gutted and rebuilt the 5-story structure into two residences: a 4-story luxury home on top of a 2-bedroom rental unit. The finished product is magnificent, with cherry floors and trim, coffered ceilings and high-end baths and kitchen.
Before construction, this house had been empty for many years. The house had fallen into a state of extreme disrepair and was unsafe to live in.
